The interview is about flow dynamics and the use of digital twins as virtual sensors. The development of these solutions at FDB started while investigating if oscillating or pulsating flow enhance gravel transport in hydropower water conduits.
In parallel to the virtual sensors, FDB also developed turbine runner rock or gravel-impact detection systems and flow facilities for the investigation of gravel transport in pulsating flow. FDB offers training and support on the Siemens Flomaster software through InnoFour and KaizenPLM.
